Education

Complementing its many other fine assets, the Upper Perkiomen Valley has outstanding educational options. Education in the community and surrounding area is well developed at every level with preschools, state-certified day care centers, a locally run school district, private schools, colleges and universities.

With four Blue Ribbon Schools, the Upper Perkiomen School District has an excellent public school reputation throughout Pennsylvania and the nation. Two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school serve approximately 3,500 students. All four have received the United States Department of Education's highest award of excellence. Very few school districts in the nation have had all of their schools designated as blue ribbon schools.

High school students interested in technical career studies may attend the Western Center for Technical Studies in Limerick. Providing skill and academic instruction using state-of-the-art equipment and instructional styles, the Center customizes programs for individuals according to their career interest.

St. Philip Neri School is a private parochial school offering an academic program for students in preschool through 8th grade. Approved by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the curriculum includes fine arts, social studies and science.

Perkiomen School is an internationally recognized Co-Educational Independent College Preparatory Boarding and Day School for grades 5 - 12 and Post Graduate. Perkiomen serves up to 300 boys and girls in grades five through twelve from 20 states and 16 foreign countries.

The surrounding region has a wealth of local colleges, and universities with national and international reputations. Montgomery County Community College, an affordable two-year community college teaches from a branch in nearby Pottstown.
